They blocked me last year when this first happened after I posted my experience. I think their is a mfg problem in some sets 0r a sporadic shipping issue. Anyone with a soldering iron, a Phillips head and YouTube can fix one, I was able to find a replacement 55 inch oled display for you just 139 dollars. Go through your home insurance and suck up the premiums. It is not wall mounted, and I noticed after some years of having it bought in 2008 both corners of the plastic frame surrounding the screen, had cracked. Use a bit of duck tape to hold the shell together and take it out in the back 40 somewares and fill it full of lead. Calls maybe recorded for training and quality purposes.
You can't feel the crack only see it, so I think the crack has to be behind the screen. I was told it was are fault. I have a Toshiba Regza 32 widescreen television. I'm curious to know what the cause could be, and if overheating is the reason, then that is a major concern. I want to get this story out there for any many people as possible to hear so that they can know to avoid the Samsung brand and to make them aware of how they treat their customers. The curved monitors are not of quality like flat screens, Dell also has a curve type that is not durable and is prone to cracking internally or with slight pressure to the screen. If you are not comfortable with the process, contact a service provider that can replace the part for you.
I am waiting for the call from the Samsung authorized service to proceed the repair. I sure hope we have much better luck with this one! Yeah, that seems like the logical route to go at this point. Hope this help someone's problem. No visible crack on the outside at all when i approached the delivery company they said your family signed delivery and there is nothing we can do. It's funny you say that. You're likely to be told by the manufacturer that their screens are tested extensively to ensure that accidental cracking of the screen is not possible except by trauma, i.
I contacted Samsung, who was apologetic for the issue on the phone, where they routed me to a 3rd party repair company, who several days later let me know that due to the nature of the damage, it was considered physical damage and voided the warranty. No damage, no scratch from outside. It was really scary but again I trusted the brand and the purchase from sears. Be also aware that panels don't usually fail other than from physical damage. I have normal warranty and no insurance. Contact the local government to see if there are options for recycling centers.
Mike Posted on May 21, 2008 Its funny how the screens cost as much as the tv but tv guys are quick to jump on them for parts or repair. Another thing to consider is. It's like these companies are putting their products though any sort of quality assurance testing whatsoever, other than making sure that the thing turns on, if they even do that! Or perhaps some solutions to the mess I am in, which perhaps can't be posted in a public folder. They insisted that the only reason is physical damage and that most people with this issue will make a claim with their insurance company. If you can, pursue this for your sets as well.
When it finished turning on which takes a few seconds there was a black band like going alongside a crack. I, also , had a cracked tv. The retailer is refusing to accept this can happen by itself, hopefully if enough people raise the same issue, manufacturers will accept that something is up. Parts is where these companies rake in big profits. Even almost 17 years later, it still works like the day we bought it.
I had it for about 3 years. I thought it would be repaired as its only 8 months and is under warranty. From what I can tell, there isn't one for this model that is just install and go. I was a die hard fan of sony. The tv that was in the child's room before nothing happened to it. Does anyone know of any other reason why this could have happened if we were simply watching a movie when this happened? They also stated that the black screen with vertical and horizontal lines was caused by a crack in the screen and as they were not there, they can't say how that cracked appeared. It's just a horizontal like about 4 inches.
To many people throw away things that they think are broken and not repairable when it is really a simple fix. Hope there is a class action lawsuit soon. Others may disagree with me. Called samsung 3 times and they refused to accept for any replacement. Jun 02, 2009 I don't have a listing for your model, but it is not unusual for the panel to cost more than a replacement set. I am just looking for input as to whether the tv is worth buying a replacment screen and remote there was no remote control with it for it.
Thank God I picked up one of these a few weeks earlier. I called Samsung a day after, they told me this is physical damage that they won't repair. Just do not look at the possibly toxic garbage dump growing behind you. Like a car windscreen, the crack will continue to spread across the entire screen so that it ends up looking like the bottom one. They gave me an estimate of 3200 rs as it is according to them a physical damage. I got a couple quotes.
